Togetherment

is the linguistic antonym to an ‘apartment’.

I worked on Togetherment as the one-and-only art tank. This game might have the highest count of art assets I’ve made for a game. It paid off in the end with the award though. In this game you play as a newly moved-in member of the apartment complex. You proceed to meet and make friends with all your neighbors in this friend simulator by talking to and playing minigames with them.

The theme for this jam was ‘Home’. With each successful friend made, you bring back a new souvenir to put in your apartment, which begins simple and barren.

The basis of ‘Home’ for Togetherment is rooted in the memories someone makes. Your apartment is not truly your home until you’ve populated it with memories and reminders of the friends you make, and the good times you have together. Each event is ended with a snapshot photo of yourself and your friend, another piece of memory to hold onto.

This game was made with Christian Macneill, Kevin Lam, and Peter Smith.
